Dr Ahmed Ghouri - Albertson Solicitors

Ahmad is a leading expert in international investment and commercial arbitration, specialising in shariah-compliant dispute resolution. After practising as a lawyer in Pakistan, he has gained a wealth of experience across commercial law and dispute resolution, regularly providing counsel to private and public organisations as well as government ministries. Alongside his role at Albertson, Ahmad teaches Commercial Law at the University of Sussex, with a course portfolio spanning International Investment Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Corporate Law, Governance, and Islamic Commercial Law.

He has authored several influential works in the field of International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, including Interaction and Conflict of Treaties in Investment Arbitration (Kluwer 2015) and The Law and Practice of Foreign Arbitration and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards in Pakistan (Springer 2013) with further research interests centring on law and justice in an increasingly globalised world, evolving approaches to global and regional economic integration, foreign investment law and policy, and the horizontal and vertical effects of treaties. Ahmad also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Manchester Journal of Transnational Islamic Law & Practice.
