Lloyd has over 35 years’ experience in law and finance and is an expert consultant on financial law, investment banking, project financing, private equity and venture capital. He provides advisory services on many high-profile cases involving banking and capital market issues as well as advising on issues at the nexus of law with finance, investment strategy, structuring and governance. This has included, among other engagements, advising a MENA Government on the design, launch and implementation of a USD 400 million program to support private equity and venture capital in order to improve funding for SMEs, and has advised other MENA Government entities on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to deliver public services.
After initially training as a lawyer, Lloyd spent much of his professional career as an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston in London, where he worked in Equity Capital Markets and was involved in several privatisations, including the privatisation of ENI in Italy. Before that, he was an Associate Director at IBJ International in London, and headed up the bank’s Transaction Execution and Legal and Compliance groups.
